Officers were called to Shanks Extracts located at 350 Richardson Drive at 6:25 a.m. on Jan. 26.
"Employees had just discovered a message that had been left on the company’s phone system indicating that the building was going to explode," police said.
The business and all surrounding businesses were evacuated, a perimeter was set up, and an explosive detection K9 from another law enforcement agency was called to assist, according to the release.
As of the time of 9 a.m., "the business remains evacuated until it is completely searched for explosives," the police said.
After an "exhaustive search," the police said they "revealed no explosive device or any other potential hazard to the public."
It remains unclear who sent the business the bomb threat.
Shanks Extracts "is a premier supplier of pure vanilla extracts and other extracts, natural and artificial flavors, food colors, syrups, and sauces that offers unique flavoring formulations," according to the company's website.
The police gave a special thanks to the popular bowling alley and golf center, Leisure Lanes located at 3440 Columbia Avenue, for "graciously allowing emergency personnel, and affected employees of the business(es) who were evacuated, to convene at their venue for the duration of the event."
